The Dark Lord

I think I would like Amy Chua as a friend. At first, I’d probably be intimidated by her. Yale Law professor and all that. But, I love that she stands by her convictions. And I bet she’s really funny in a very blunt way. I actually laughed out loud yesterday when she said, “Unlike Western parents, reminding my child of Lord Voldemort didn’t bother me.”

    Isaac had a weird sleeping day–growth spurt, I think–eat, sleep, eat, sleep–anywho

He got to stay up a little late and when I picked him for his walk down the green mile, he looked up at me and Ben and got really, really cute. Ben said, “He gets so excited when he can see us. He really likes to hang out with his parents.” Then on a sadder note he said, “This is why parents are so disappointed when their teenagers don’t want anything to do with them anymore. Then at some point they realize their parents are just people, and sometimes not even very good people.”

So far, so good. Teddy and Phoebe are four and three and still really like to hang out with their parents!
