Your last paragraph is wise, especially since I just read/thought about that part while Cole and Ethan were flying pirates.
I wish I could read a memoir by someone who I didn’t kind of hate by the end–it would be remarkable. When I write mine I will probably hate even myself by the end.

I got to your post before I got to these chapters so the quotes you quoted (!!) stood out to me too. So much of his description is perfect. I can often feel what he’s talking about–He doesn’t just show you what he’s talking about but he’s also able to help you feel what he’s talking about.

I also thought it was interesting how he dealt with Mlle. For someone he didn’t get along with he is quite mellow and respectful.
I feel obsolete already in my life. It is a terrible feeling.

I loved the political assassination too Kate, it fit perfectly. That sounds callous but that isn’t how I mean it.

I have not finished the book, what with there being a schedule and I am only supposed to be 2/3 of the way through. I never knew I was such a rule follower.

I will not be reading any books about butterfly collection in the near future.

Hey All! I did look up all of those words. Even wrote them in the book. So if you’re not interested in looking them up for yourselves, maybe I could lend you my book to use while you’re finishing the book!

I enjoy the comments from you, even though I think I only know 2 of you. Hope you can do Chili’s soon, I’ll think about it. At least I’m going to the city Mon to do some birthday, maybe Christmas shopping with my two friends here (farming boondocks of MO).

Are we planning to do another book? If so, would you allow me to intrude again? Saundra

I have written about a few things where when I read it later, what is on the page becomes the truth. Even if it was only half of it or something. After I recovered from anorexia I wrote a narrative about it. I vividly recall the events that I put on paper but a lot of other stuff is sketchy.

I didn’t recognize Teddy this morning when I saw him running around. His mane is a very conspicuous trait and when it’s gone . . . well, he’s just not Teddy.
